Found a few shots of some grey version maquette sculpts I did a while back of characters from the animated television show Sheep In The Big City. Ten grey sets and one full color set was made of 4 different characters from the series.

Here's another oldie - cold cast bronze resin Earth X Captain America that I gave to Alex Ross a while back. One day I'll do a full costume version of the captain...

Last month Xmoor Studios ran a Galtow fan art contest on the Herotalk Forum hosted by the always uber gracious Omar (at Blacksuperhero.com). This was the winning entry submitted by Quasilucid (www.quasilucid.com - check him out - this guy is crazy talented!). There were a bunch of outstanding entries from the other mega talented forum members (thanks guys) but this entry by Quasilucid knocked Rob G. and me out.

We have another contest coming up soon that will be open to everybody all over so keep ya eyes peeled!!!

I was cleaning up the hard drive and found a few images of some old sculpts I thought I'd start posting up for fun. This is a vampire bust I never got to finish.

I started posting up a step by step on how I sculpted up the Galtow Warrior bust on my Deviantart site: http://arthammer.deviantart.com/ in the SCRAPS section. Here's a 2D image of the Keylon Jakes character from the Galtow comic book series written and created by Robert Garrett and illustrated by the uber talented Patrick David (issues 1 and 2 only):

Above is the cover to issue one. Robert Garrett and I will be dropping isue 3 with an all new art team very soon. We also put out a limited full color ten page teaser that's currently on sale at MidTown Comics and a few other select comic shops around NYC.
Here's a pic of the finished bust featured in the step by step:

Keep an eye out soon for the big art contest when we'll be giving away a "special version" of this bust to the winner. Wanna win one?

Vinyl explosion!!!
This is where all the toy sculpt magic happens...not much eh? And yeah - I still use sculpey on some projects...but toy wax is how everything is finished before resin castings are made... Just my little sculpting corner with "out the door" projects in various stages. Got a nice lineup dropping early 2007. I'm dying to see all the packaging for these guys n gals...it's such a pleasure to work with all these talented artists and pop their concepts off the paper.

It's amazing what you can do with Photoshop and sculpture. I used an old head sculpt of a scary looking character I made up, a piece of black cloth, and some Photoshop tweakage and - whalla!!!
instant Darth Devilicious - a downright nasty mean sith type character. Wanna fight him???

I call this custom - "Barefoot Killer"

I was dying to modify this Huck Gee Skullhead I sculpted up for Kid Robot. The only art they gave me was 3/4 shot of this skull character's head. I had to wing that bad boy with no rotation art. My custom version is a late night hitman...late night - because he would stand out like a sore thumb in daylight with that big a$$ head. Did the wings, minisword skull handle, hands and all the different shoes too (on the other 5 versions of the actual figures). The body is a generic 12 inch action figure body, the bright white was a nice touch. Huck Gee is a wicked artist...and his custom Skullheads are no joke!!! Look him up.

One of my latest endeavors...making sculpts for vinyl toys is a lot of work. Well - a lot of sanding, LOL. The surface treatment has to be almost flawless for the rotomolding production process overseas. The funny thing is you do the best you possibly can and finally get a copy of the toy and see a few flaws that the factory made...that sh*t makes me nuts.

Kaching Brands was gracious enough to give me a sculpting credit on the back of the box. A lot of companies still don't do that. Here's a shot of the actual prototype at Toy Fair (Javitts Center NYC) earlier this year at the Toy Tokyo booth:

Andrew Scribner did a really good job on the paintup for me. And a shout out goes to Nelson and Manny over at Storybox Ink (www.storyboxink.com) for the package design work. Those guys are no joke.
